Use this blog for class discussion.
It will be quite interesting to read your evaluation criteria for technology-based mathematics lessons.

One of the criteria I would definitely use is the connection to mathematical principles.

1.Its enhancement of critical thinking skills.
2. Cost
3. Its complements to the teachers effort
4. its useability

Samuel,
Great ideas. What are you referring to when you mention "cost"

whether the software is affordable by all students or only the rich students can afford it.

[4-its useability]. I think this is a very good point to consider. I agree with you that it must be user friendly and that each student must feel comfortable in using the medium.

1. Clear & simple objectives;
2. Sequential reinforcement activities;
3. Activities must be relevant to the topic/objectives;
4. Lesson must be at the students' age level;
5. Objectives must cater to different learning styles.

That is so true, the activities must be relevant. How irrelevant it is when the activities used in the class does not match the objectives being taught. Students would not learn and the objectives would not have been met.

I am greatly concern with the follow up with the use of technology. I think I would add one such criteria. After you teach, what next.

(1) Visual representation/Stimulating
(2) Grade level appropriateness
(3) Alignment to mathematical concepts
(4) Depth of concepts taught
(5) Alignment of concepts taught to assessment

I contend that creterion for evaluating technology based lessons would include:

1. Content should be relevant or apprpropriate to the objectives and students needs.
2. The website being used to teach instruction should be user friendly.
3. The information taught should match the objectives of the lesson.
4. The instructions should be clear so as to ensure that students understand the concepts being taught.
4. The lesson should appeal to students needs and interest.

These are just a few ideas.

1.Use Post Test for evaluation
2.Allow for students interaction by having them measure angles
3. Allow students to think critically
4. Draw and name angles independently
5. Use quizzes and verbal discussions
